About The Job

We are seeking a driven and experienced business development and sales expert in the social media and content marketing industry. This person would be responsible for driving growth in new client acquisition for the agency– navigating opportunities as well as managing the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting, nurturing lead opportunities to contract negotiation, and deal closure.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • As the Business Development Lead your primary role will be to crack an effective sales strategy for Humour Me to target specific categories and mid-sized brands (75 to 250 crores in annual recurring revenue) whilst ensuring growth in new business for the agency.
  • You will be responsible for generating a healthy monthly funnel of out-bound qualified leads through CRM tools such as HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesforce etc or any other means necessary.
  • Once you generate these monthly leads you will be responsible to prospect potential qualified leads via email, video presentations, WhatsApp or any other means necessary in order to close first meeting touchpoints.
  • Conducting extensive research around the brands who convert into meetings by studying their category, audience, past work, competition and identifying key gaps in their content marketing and digital communication from a customer-first POV.
  • You will responsible for leading meetings with brand managers and digital marketing managers as a first touch point to conduct an extensive discovery session to identify their pain points/gaps and position Humour Me as their preferred creative agency partner.
  • Ensuring deals are closed at pre-determined margins that have been set as per the agency’s senior management.
  • Develop oneself when it comes to the core capability of content marketing to position yourself as an expert in the eyes of the marketers you speak with.
  • You will responsible for conducting trainings for new business development executives and training them in various functional skills from the use of CRM tools, business writing, creating effective presentations, conducting discovery sessions, negotiation to writing effective proposals.
  • Lead the charge on proposal writing, contract closures, invoicing etc.
  • Keep a thorough record of the monthly sales funnel along with leading the charge on quarterly revenue forecasting.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients that have been on-boarded with the agency and ensuring customer satisfaction scores are met.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a new business development manager at a digital marketing or creative agency.
  • Proven track record of having on-boarded multiple clients and led business growth for the agencies you have worked with.
  • Knowledge of CRM tools such Salesforce, HubSpot etc. for lead mining and generation.
  • Strong and continued relationships with brand marketers and digital marketers at well-known and established brands.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media marketing, content marketing and brand marketing.
  • Proven track record of running and building business development teams and meeting quarterly targets.
